ACCIONA and Fundación Agustín de Betancourt presented the FISSAC project during the General Assembly Meeting of the European H2020 LORCENIS project on the 22nd March 2019 in Madrid, Spain.


The meeting took place in The Institute of Construction Sciences Eduardo Torroja (IETcc),  a Center of the Spanish Superior Council of Scientific Research (CSIC), belonging to the Area of Science and Technology of Materials.


The report titled “Industrial Segmentation, criteria and correlation to the FISSAC first application” deals with the replicability of the FISSAC model. The topic is  investigated setting up a methodology for industrial segmentation, aimed at evaluating the replicability potential. A list of tailored criteria guides the assessment of different opportunities.

RINA presented the FISSAC project activities during the workshop called “Today‘s waste, tomorrow material” within the World Sustainable Energy Days (session “Innovation Workshops Energy and Buildings”) on 28th February 2019 in Wels, Austria.

The workshop was also an opportunity to exchange experiences with other H2020 projects dealing with the ciruclar economy: RE4, Green INSTRUCT, VEEP, InnoWEE

We take this opportunity to thank the FISSAC partner FENIX for the organization.


On the 25th and 26th of February 2019, FISSAC team joined the World Resources Forum in Antwerp. At the “Industrial Symbiosis in Euorpe” booth, FISSAC, together with other SPIRE Projects (SHAREBOX, EPOS, SYMBIOPTIMA, URBANREC), showcased the ongoing activities and exposed some samples of the products being produced.


The FISSAC Industrial Symbiosis Platform was presented by the partner RINA during a conference.


It was a great opportunity to meet people, exchange ideas and draw inspiration for the next challenges.

Secondo Living Lab Italiano – Il recupero di materia nel cemento e nel calcestruzzo


L’11 dicembre 2018 ha avuto luogo il secondo Living Lab del progetto FISSAC per l’Italia, organizzato da RINA in collaborazione con ATECAP, Associazione Tecnico Economica del Calcestruzzo Preconfezionato. In linea con il primo Living Lab organizzato lo scorso anno presso l’AIB (Associazione industriale bresciana), anche il secondo ha rappresentato un momento di confronto fra i vari soggetti coinvolti a diverso titolo nel recupero di materia, per evidenziarne le criticità e le opportunità, in un’ottica di economia circolare ormai irrinunciabile per le aziende. L’evento ha infatti visto la partecipazione di esponenti del mondo dell’industria del cemento e del calcestruzzo, dei produttori di aggregati riciclati e dei principali soggetti che intervengono nella scelta dei prodotti da costruzione contenenti riciclato, come progettisti e imprese di costruzioni.
