FISSAC

Living Labs in Sweden have been carried out since autumn 2016 and are jointly organized by Hifab and the Swedish Research Institute, RISE. The participants of the Swedish Living Labs represent a broad constellation of actors both from public and private sector. By gathering these different actors into conversations and joint activities in a neutral platform, we can create an open and cross-border climate where we develop new ideas and innovation for moving towards a more circular use of resources.

In Sweden, the theme for the Living Lab meetings were suggested by the participants. We believe that not organizers but participants have the best knowledge of the industry, they know the main barriers for a circular use of materials and have the best ideas to overcome the barriers. The participants proposed to follow with a topic covering the whole construction process of a building material: from extraction of the virgin material, through production and usage, to waste and recycling.
